Get crafty at Barton Marina’s Artisan Market

Barton Marina is looking forward to showcasing the best of Staffordshire’s artistic and culinary talent next week as the popular Sunday Artisan Market makes a return.

Staffordshire’s famous waterfront landmark plays host to the bustling shopping event on Sunday 25 June (10am to 4pm) and is set to welcome a host of new stallholders in addition to all the old favourites.

The market, which recently welcomed a new antiques mini market run by Antiques2Go, sits in the heart of Barton Marina’s picturesque canal community and attracts thousands of visitors every year.

Held on the last Sunday of every month, the event boasts a treasure trove of handmade gifts, clothes, jewellery and food, giving the region’s independent suppliers a fantastic opportunity to build their businesses.

Among the stallholders are Vivid Accessories (fashion handbags, purses and jewellery) Cook Spanish (Spanish terracotta) The Fudge Cottage (pick n mix fudge) Little Rye Company (rye bread).

The market, run by events management company Sketts, supports Staffordshire’s growing tourist industry and attracts visitors from the UK and beyond. It is also fast becoming a food connoisseur’s heaven with local producers such as Manor Fruit Farm (local strawberries and soft fruits), Cake & Co (cupcakes, tray bakes, cake slices) and Spice Fever (samosas) onboard.

A spokesperson said: “Barton Marina is proud to offer a platform for local independent businesses to build their brand and give our visitors a unique shopping experience.

“We are passionate about nurturing local talent and supporting independent crafts workers to develop and grow their businesses. Our Artisan Market is fast-becoming a must for those wanting something extra special that they can’t buy on the high street.”

The Waterfront – Barton Marina’s premier restaurant and entertainment venue – recently launched a new breakfast menu including Eggs Benedict, American Pancakes and Full English, providing every excuse to enjoy a morning out at the Waterfront.
